Day 6 Antwerp - 5.8.05

We enjoyed our beer and atmosphere sampling last night so much we thought we would spend the morning investigating further. The tour through the cathedral with a number of works by Rubens and others, sculptures and just the sheer size especially the height, was very impressive. We bought some handmade Belgian chocolate and had a coffee (Daniel - hot chocolate). We then rode to central station and walked down Pelikanstrasse to see the diamond dealing capital of the world. After seeing Muslim influences throughout England, Holland and Belgium, this was the first Jewish influence we had seen.

It was now after 12 so we set of and rode to bypass Brussels. As soon as we passed the Brussels area we lost the bike paths. We were back on the road with the cars and there wasn't much room for us. The drivers were considerate and patient, the only terse words were from a cyclist trying to pass Peter at a narrow spot. Its not flat anymore and I'm enjoying the variety of the undulating hills. We rode into Warve (vaver) and found a room.

Stats Dist 75 Km, Average 17.5km/hr, Max ND, Climb 100m
